They’re the cutest little guys. You can find them not too far away from your King Island accommodation, providing you’re there at the right place at the right time.

Just the way they waddle can make you laugh. If you get up close and friendly to a little echidna it will attempt to bury its head in the ground leaving you with a back full of spears to stare at. They have no natural enemies except maybe for cars, they can waddle across this island to their hearts content with nothing to worry them.

I recently found one in a wooden box full of ropes, it was so well camouflaged I didn’t initially know it was there until I went to see why my dog wouldn’t stop barking. It stayed a few days then moved on.
